Quick Week or Atleast It Seemed That Way!

This week went by pretty darn fast! We kept busy as usual. Rob had off on Monday for President's Day. We hung out around the house and made (actually heated up) cherry pie for dessert in honor of George Washington. The kids ate the pie, somewhat, and actually asked for seconds....but only for the vanilla ice cream that was put on the top :)
Kevin learned all about fire safety in school on Tuesday. He told me all about how if he hears the smoke detectors go off  at night he needs to roll out of bed, crawl across the floor, and feel the door to make sure its not hot. Kevin has also, finally, mastered the numbers of our address. He used to only say the street name, town, and state. But now the numbers are included....yeah! He's also been doing great with writing his name. He has the E, V, and I, down pat....just needs a little more help with the K and N. Overall though he is doing great!

Kira is just a ball of fire! She keeps me on my toes. With everything Ive asked her in the last week or so she responds with "suuuuure or alwight." She love...love...loves anything stuffed. She her animals around everywhere and calls them her babies. Her favorite is her "baby lemur." Its a little lemur that she got for xmas from Grammy. It has a Santa hat on and plays xmas music....or atleast it used to. She definetly pushed it way to many times. And on a postive note....she knows how to climb out of her crib....but DOESNT! She calls for me now. Im so happy about that!

We meet our friends at Chick Fil A for lunch this week too. I think my kids were going through withdraw! We usually meet up atleast once a week and go there. But its seriously been like a month and a half! Friday we went to a family art class at Gymboree. I had some make ups because of the weather so I was able to bring Kevin along too. It was fun but messy.....I guess thats what makes it so fun though. After we stayed for an open gym. Kevin was in his glory....he hasnt been to Gymboree in years! Friday night we went to the Jump Zone for a birthday party. That place always seems to completely wear my kids out and I LOVE it!!

Gymboree Art Class
Ive been feeling really sick and tired this week. I have pounding headaches everyday :(  Even some foods have been smelling really weird to me....almost repulsive. Rob made pork chops for dinner tonight with a pasta and broccoli. It smelled aweful to me and I had to force it down. I def know I havent been eating as much as I should. I am trying really hard though. I go in another week for my 16 week check up and I cant wait! I need to see these babies again! Lets hope this week goes faster than the last!

Good News!

I know I'm a little overdue on my weekly posting but these past two weeks have been really busy! I went for my first trimester gentic screening on Monday February 7th. To my relief both the babies looked great. Their nuchael luchencies were perfect and they were both measuring about a week ahead! The tech also told us she was "leaning" towards them being boys! We will have to wait for our 20 week ultrasound to know for sure though.

After waiting about a week and a half for the blood result part of the test to come back....it did this past Wednesday. We were told that the babies both have a 1:14,000 chance for down syndrome and 1:21,000 for Trisomy 18! What a relief.....I can't even begin to explain! So now I can move on from this part of my pregnancy and hopefully start to enjoy it a little more for the next few weeks. Until of course my 16 week appt where they screen for spina bifida and then my 20 week anatomy scan. I have a feeling this pregnancy is going to be nonstop worry for me!

Grammy came to visit us on Tues Feb 8th a night early. We were suppose to get 2-4 inches of snow on Wednesday morning so we rebooked her flight for the night before. Good thing we did because instead of 2-4 inches we got 21!! Holy Cow! This was the most snow this area has EVER seen at one time! There are people here in their 30's who said they have never seen so much snow in their lives....how funny is that! Being from NJ of course we are seasoned pros in this house! We had an awesome week! It was so nice to have Grammy here and the kids had so much fun with her. We played in the snow, went shopping, ate some really good meals, and had some really good desserts! I miss having her so close :( When she left both Kevin and Kira cried at the airport. It broke my heart. I can't wait until June when we take on the 21 hour drive to NJ for Chris and Aileens wedding!!

We all had a great Valentine's Day too! Grammy, Kevin, Kira, and I went to Krispy Kreme for breakfast to get heart shaped donuts. Then we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese! The kids got gifts all day. First from Grammy, then from Mommy, and then when Daddy got home he brought more. We all had a really nice dinner together! The next day Kevin had his Valentine party at school which was really fun too!

We also had beautiful weather this week! Nothing below 60 degrees! It was so nice to get out of the house and play! Spring is less than a month! Yeah!

Happy 2nd Birthday Kira!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my beautiful, princess Kira!

To start out the day....Rob, Kevin, and I went into Kira's room singing "Happy Birthday, " she looked at us and started bawling! I would never have predicted this in a million years! Kevin, in a hearbeat, but not Kira! She's my little ham! So once she got over it, she was happy and ready to get on with the day :) She opened one of her presents, a My Little Pony," which she loved and played with all day. We had a nice breakfast, watched The Jungle Book, and did some crafts (made Kira a birthday crown and some beaded bracelets).

After lunch, we watched 101 Dalmations, which the kids had never seen before and they loved it! Then it was naptime which Kira wanted no part of today. Kevin passed out and I heard Kira talking away over the intercom. About an hour into their nap, I hear this tapping sound coming from Kevin's room. I thought he was up already and went into his room. Well, he was completely passed out and there was a little girl in there playing by his bed. Yep, Kira escaped and luckily didnt wake him up. She spent the rest of the time in her room, but deceided napping wasnt for her today :) It was her special day and she knew it!

When Rob got home Kira opened her gifts. She got some books and dollhouse furniture from Grandma and Pop. Grammy got her rain boots, an umbrella, a raincoat, and some Yoohoos. And she got a tea set, a My Little Pony stuffed animal, and some things for her babies from Mommy, Daddy, and Kevin. It was sad because we were suppose to go to Chuck E Cheese. That was her birthday request for dinner. She wanted pizza there. But the roads were aweful and it was closed. So we're going to have to postpone it to another day. Instead she had a hotdog :) We made a yummy cake and she wanted it decorated with Strawberry Shortcake. So we took her old cake toppers and used them :) She loved helping decorate the cake by licking all the frosting off of it! She actually cried again when we sang to her, weird, but she got over it again and blew her candles out.

It would have been nice to go outside but since the kids had just gotten over being sick, I didnt want to chance it. We were suppose to get an additional inch of snow today and ended up with a Winter Storm Warning and about five inches more!

Kira has added so much joy to our family. She makes us laugh everyday! What would we ever
do without our fiesty little diva. Life just would not be the same :)

To Many Snow Days!!

So we have officially been trapped in the house for three days now! Monday-Wednesday we got about .5 inches of ice and on top 6 inches of snow. This is enough to cripple NWA for a week! No roads have been plowed and I heard they arent salting because its been way to cold and salting will only cause the roads to be more slippery! Insanity! The public schools have been closed all week too. The way things are going here, with no built in snow days, these kids will be going to school until July!! It's suppose to warm up to the 40's this weekend so hopefully by next week we can get out!!

Kevin and Kira have both been sick anyway so I guess its kinda good we've been trapped! Can't go anywhere anyway!! We did manage to sneak outside in 9 degree weather to play in the snow. It lasted a total of 10 minutes, but hey, whos counting! The kids just pulled icicles off their playhouse and ate them...lol!
