Nightmare at the Airport

Today we left for NJ. We got up at 3am to be at XNA by 5:45am. Everything was going well...or so we thought! We had a conncection in Chicago and because it was really windy there....our plane was delayed for about an hour. This was fine because our layover was 3 hours and it just cut down on the time we had to spend at the airport before our  next flight. Everything was fine....we boarded....and were about to take off....WHEN....we got delayed again. This time for 45 minutes just enough to make us worried whether we would miss our connection in Chicago. Everything in and out of Chicago was put to a halt because of winds. So 45 minutes later our plane takes off....we see once we get there that our connection flight is boarding. We dash through the airport only to miss the flight (because the airport is so darn big!) We find out that they put us on a 6pm flight. We obviously didnt want to wait 7 hours for our flight so we changed our flight to leave at 2pm and which landed in Allentown, Pa. We waited and waited. Around 1:30pm I got a phone call saying our flight to Allentown was CANCELLED!! So we were back on that 6pm flight. Which we had no choice....we had to take. Once a few more hours went by and 6 o'clock finally came...we got to our terminal and got in line to board. When to our surprise (well...not really by the way the day was going) our flight was delayed due to no crew members! So we waited and waited and finally at 9pm our flight took off.

Once we landed in West Chester NY we took our rental car (since it was midnight at this point) and drove to Blairstown. We finally got in at 3am. A full 24 hours to get to our destination! This was definetly the trip from hell! Ready for a fun two weeks in NJ! :)

We met Peyton at a Halloween party and Kira has not stopped talking about him since. He is the little boy who dressed up as Captain America. They were holding hands and playing together the entire night at the party.I was able to get his Mom's phone number from a colleague of Robs from work. His Mom told me Peyton has been talking about Kira non stop too. So we got them together for a playdate. Abigail, Faith, and Mallory came too.

Our Trip to See Santa

Here are some pictures from our trip to see Santa at the Pinnacle Mall. There was no crying this year. Everyone sat willing with him to take a picture!! Kevin told him he wanted a Buzz Lightyear and Kira, a puppy. They got candy cane lollipops and a coloring book from Santa. Yay!!

Decorating for Christmas

This year we decorated for Christmas a week early since we are leaving for NJ on November 29th. The kids has a blast. Most of the ornaments are on the center bottom of the tree....since they cant reach much higher. (I rearranged a little after). We put the tree in a different spot this year on the hard floor so Im  a little nervous with the breakable ornaments....hopefully we wont have an casualties. Kira did break a few legs off of my Nags Head crab but that was really all....leave it to her. I expected nothing less :) It was nice to have xmas music blasting through the house....I love this time of year!!

Thanksgiving 2011

This year we had a great Thanksgiving. It was Ryan and Drew's first!!We shared it with two other families from Rob's work....Ben, Lore, and their daughters. And Anthony, Josie, and their two daughters. Kevin and Kira had a great time playing with all the kids. We smoked a turkey in Ben's oilless smoker. It uses UV rays instead. It was good...but I heard not as good as a real fried turkey. We bought a bouncy house from one of Rob's friends who moved to NJ. So we sent that up for the kids to play on. They were outside all afternoon! We all had a really nice and relaxing day :)
