This week Kevin had his Thanksgiving Show at Tiny Tots. They class had been practicing since the beginning of Novemeber for the show and all the songs were sent home with the parents to practice too. We sang them all evey night before bed time.
Kevin gets really nervous when he gets up in front of everyone and tends to throw himself on the floor out of embarassment. So he did that when they first walked in. He did sing the songs at times but was also very loud during the show saying some inappropriate things. He was dancing and throwing himself on the floor. He also kept banging and dropping his Indian drum. I felt really bad for him. People were laughing at him because it was entertaining but I know it was all because he has some anxiety and doesnt know how to deal with it. Sometimes it comes across as misbehaving but it really isnt. I had a talk with his teacher about it and I also spoke with him. Ms Linda assured me that she has seen it before in kids.We are going to work on reassuring him about things and hopefully the symptoms will diminish. Despite Kevin's antics....he did a great job and the show was very adorable!
On Friday the class had an Indian Pow Wow in the atrium. Parents werent invited but were allowed to come later to take pictures. I came a little early and was able to peak in on them. They were all dressed in their Indian costumes.....dancing around a fire. Very cute!
