19 Weeks!

Twin A
We had our "big" ultrasound today and everything went great! The babies both looked good. Twin A was moving all over the place. He didnt sit still for a minute. I actually warned the tech about this before we went in. She was able to most everything but had to go back for the heart because he wouldnt sit still. Baby B was a little more on the quiet side. She was able to check everything she needed to very quick because he sat there like a perfect angel. He started to move around more toward the end which was ok because she was pretty much finished at that point. We were able to get really good profile pictures of Twin A but not so much of Twin B. We did get some good shots of Twin B's boy parts so I guess that's good enough :)

The babies are most definetly boys. There is no doubt. They both weighed 12 oz. I was 19 weeks 1 day at my ultrasound. Twin A measured 20 weeks and Twin B measured 19 weeks 6 days. So they were only a day apart. Im really hoping they keep up their lead!

I go back on Monday for my monthly doctor's appointment. Then I go for another ultrasound at 24 weeks.

Wild Safari (aka ghetto zoo :)

Excited for the zoo!
Today we deceided to take the kids to Wild Safari in Gentry. Its only about a 20 minute drive out to the middle of nowhere Arkansas! They have a safari and a petting zoo and all sorts of different kinds of animals. First we went through the safari. We brough saltines to feed the animals....Kira liked to feed them but Kevin wanted no part. On the safari we saw zebras, emus, camels, lions, bears, and the list goes on. You can always count on the camels, zebra, and emu come right up the car window....so its fun!

After the safari part we went to the petting zoo. There wasnt anything to crazy this time around (last time we went we got to hold lion cubs) but we did get hold baby monkeys. Kevin's favorite was the huge tortoise, which Im totally not surprised about, they dont move! :) Right up his alley. Kira my little animal lover was all over the place. She was bouncing around from the monkies, to the dogs, to the cats, bunnies, all the soft furry little creatures! They both really loved the porcupine because Grammy's dog Layla got attacked by one :) They both also enjoyed feeding the goats, pigs, and llamas.

On the way home we stopped at McDonalds and had lunch. Fun, fun day!

Car Wash

Today the kids had fun helping Rob wash the Nissan. Since Kevin helped him wash my car last weekend....he was looking forward to washing Daddy's car all week! It was warm when the sun but really chilly when it went behind the clouds. Go figure as soon as we started washing the car....the sun dissapeared! We started out with no jackets but in the end had to put our rain coats on. Kira brought her puppy out and ended up soaking him in the bucket. It was funny! Overall they had a great time!

Goof Ball!

Just thought I would share what a goof ball Kira is (if you all didnt know already). She was thirsty and wanted some milk. So I poured it in one of her cups and left it on the counter with no lid....while I quickly ran across the kitchen to get one. Well in the small amount of time....she grabbed the cup and the milk spilled all over the floor. I called the dogs in to help me clean it up and instead of helping with a towel.....Kira got down on the floor with the dogs and started licking it up. She kept saying "I winking (drinking) Mommy....I yicking (licking)" I love her to death! She cracks me up!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today was great! The kids had a lot of fun! Kevin went to school in the morning. I rushed home because I had 45 minutes before Kira's Gymboree class and I had some ruckuss to create! We were going to be visited by a Leprechaun! So the Leprechaun pretty much made a mess out of our house....and Kira and I were home the whole time! He turned pictures upside down, threw chairs over, movies were all over the floor, Kevin and Kira's rooms were a mess, he spilled candy, and left lots and lots of foot prints!  The silly Leprechaun even forgot his pot of gold! It was fun to create....and Kevin was sooo amazed when he got home. Kira acted like she never saw it happen....lol. We went out to eat with Daddy at Steak n Shake and came home and played for a little before nap. I made corned beef and cabbage for dinner and green jello with fruit in it for dessert. They also had shamrock cookies in between. We turned their bath water green to end the day! Time for bed....goodnight.

16 weeks and counting!

Monday I had my 16 week appointment for the babies. I had an ultrasound because I've been a paranoid mess. I just wanted to make sure they were both alive and growing the same. Everything seemed to go well. We found out they are definetly both boys. Baby A who was the smaller one last time is now bigger by 3 days! He measured 17weeks 1 day. And Baby B measured 16 weeks 5 days. So both are measuring about a half to a full week ahead....which Im happy about. I just hope they both keep it up. Since my OBGYN (a monther of twins herself )gives me no advice or any helpful hints on how to manage a twin pregnancy....I bought two books to ready. I really love the one Twins, Triplets, and Quads. It has been so helpful. A lot of people told me that they have followed the book exactly and had big healthy babys. It basically tells you the right way to eat, what to eat, how much water to drink, what supplements to take, etc.etc. I never understood how differently you have to treat a multiple pregnancy vs a singleton. It truely is a totally different world. In general a monther carrying twins measures and feels 6 to 8 weeks ahead of a mother carrying a single baby. So at 16 weeks Im the size of a 22 week pregnant mother. I love reading all about this stuff....it's great! I've also felt the babies move for the first time all this week....maybe I have before this...but this week I know for sure its them! Other than that....Ive been so extremely exhausted and Im still getting pounding headaches. I swear they are migraines. The doctor said this is common during the second trimester and should ease up by the third. But by that point I wont be able to move!

We've had a quite week in general. Nothing much happened. Tuesday was exciting for me because we had cleaning people come for the first time ever! I love not having to do the housework! Especially since its getting increasingly difficult for me! I left Kira alone in her room while I was emptying the dishwasher and came back to find her having a full on coverstation with Joe (the cleaning man). Of course he had NO clue what she was saying....he was just nodding his head as she went on about her stuffed rabbit Carrots, her dollhouse, and how she wanted to have a tea party. I couldnt help but to listen and laugh.

On Wednesday we took my car to the dealership to have an oil change and to have its yearly check. While we waited Kevin was in heaven looking at all the cars inside the dealership. He got in and out and walked around them. Beeped the horns, turned on the flashers, the list is endless. He called them all "his" cars and wanted me to buy every single one. After we went out to lunch with Daddy at Chick Fil A. Kevin brought a potato home from school that we had to stick in water. When it starts to grow we are going to stick it in a pot so it can grow, if we put in a moderately sunny spot, we should have some potatos to eat by the fall. He is really excited about this! Today Kevin and Kira's friend Will came over to play for the day. They had a ball! Kevin and Will get along so great together.

Tomorrow Rob promised Kevin he would take him to the car dealerships to look at cars. He has been looking forward to this ever since Wednesday when we went to the Honda dealership. He has about 3 or 4 places lined up. I think they are Chevy, Ford, Toyota, and BMW. He was also on his best behavior this week anticipating this trip! He is so obsessed....but its so cute....I love that he loves something so much!

He also helped Daddy wash my van and clean out the garage. He did such a great job! We went to two birthday partys. One at Lewis and Clark where the kids got to climb a rock wall (neither of mine would) and then to The Little Gym....which they LOVE!!
