The last couple days Ive been feeling pretty lousy. I felt as though my blood pressure was up. I have been dizzy, had a headache, seeing floaters, and my feet were swelling just a little. I had my weekly doctor appointment on Monday and my pressure was up a little bit. They made me lay on my left side and it went back down. So they let me go home. I called the doctor today (thursday) and they wanted me to come in for a blood pressure check. I went into the doctors and my pressure was 154/? so again they made me lay on my left side. It didnt go down. So they sent me to the hospital to be monitored.
Rob met me at the hospital. I had a wonderful nurse named Barbara. She hooked me up to the blood pressure machine, and all the monitors for the babies and away we went! As usual she had a really hard time finding Baby B's heartbeat (shocker) but eventually felt confident she had both. They also took my blood to check for pre eclampsia.
I was there for a couple hours and they determined I was ok to go home. My blood pressure was down while I was resting and I showed no signs of pre eclampsia. Barbara did inform me that my platelet count was down to 94,000 and I may have to be put completely out for my csection. They usually cut it off at 100,000. The reason for this is that they dont want me to bleed out of the little hole in my back. She said they would take my blood again the day before my procedure to see if things have changed. I was really sad about this but hopeful I would be ok to have my spinal. Barbara said Dr Sarver wanted me to go on bed rest for the next 5 days before my big day!
So I will spend the next 5 days in bed :)

Kevin Under Water and My Little Diva
Kevin has never liked water in his face. Even in the bathtub if any drop of water goes in his eyes he yells "mine eyes....mine eyes" until we get it all out. So this summer at the pool I wondered how long, if ever, it would take him to put his face in or under the water. After half the summer Kevin has FINALLY gotten enough courage to swim underwater. Im so proud of him. We have been at the pool so much this summer and he watches all the older kids swim. He always points out all the kids that go underwater and watches them nonstop. Finally, last week he deceided he was going to try it too. He was watching this little boy, Palmer, at the pool and slowly put his face in the water. He slowly pushed off from the side of the pool and swam across to the other side with his face under the water. He has done it nonstop ever since and is so proud of himself for doing it. He swims without his swimmies and wears his goggles so he can see under the water. He jumps off the side of the pool and completely goes under. He also recently started to let Rob throw him in the water. He has made so much progress. We just have to move our way into the deep end now.
Kira on the other hand is my little Diva. I noticed that she started to really love to wear her bracelets. She only had a few so I took her to the store to pick out a bunch with my Kohls cash. She had a ball!! She picked out three pairs of different bracelets and two different necklaces. She thinks she is such a little princess when she wears them....she twirls around and says she is beautiful. I love that she loves herself.
Kira has also been doing really well at the pool. She recently started putting her face underwater and she has been walking around slowly with her face under for short periods of time. She sees Kevin doing it and wants to be like him. Im glad because she is learning. She also loves going down the slides at any pool we go to....as long as someone catches her!
By the end of the summer I hope I have two swimming little kids :)

My Birthday!
We had a gift certificate for Ruth's Chris so we made a reservation for dinner there later. We called late so the only reservation left was at 8:15pm. So instead of having dinner before cake....we had cake before dinner. Rob went to Walmart and got my favorite, a Carvel cake, and it was yummy. The kids enjoyed it too. Diane watched the kids for us so we could go out to dinner....which was also delicious :) Awesome day!

Playdate and Dress Like a Cow Day
Today we had an awesome playdate at Drew and Sami's house! Dana set up a whole bunch of water fun in the backyard and the kids went to town. She had a baby pool, slip n slide, water table, a big wheel to roll around in and lots of other fun stuff. It was really nice because everyone was able to come so Kevin and Kira got to see all of their friends! It's always hard to get everyone together these days....so this day was extra special.
After the morning playdate we all piled in the car and headed to Chick Fil A. It was "dress like a cow" day and if you did....you got free food. So all of the kids and adults dressed like cows :) Fun...Fun...Day!

4th of July
The kids helped me make and decorate an American flag cake with blueberries, bananas, and strawberries and we made American flag cookies too.
Since fireworks are legal in Arkansas, we went to the store and bought a whole bunch to set off with the kids. Neither of them liked the really loud ones but had a blast throwing the little poppers and lighting the sparklers. Rob got a "worm" which they liked to watch grow too. Kevin really liked the flowers that zip around and change colors. Kira started to cry and went inside.
Later on, after dinner Rob and I sat in the garage and set off the fire crackers. We had so many of them....it made such a mess all over the driveway :) The neighborhood also had a bbq at the park and set off lots of fireworks after it got dark. It was really nice not to have to leave the house and still see a great fireworks show!
