We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We went to the pool everyday and layed just around and relaxed! Aunt Diane came last night to help us for 5 weeks before and after the babies come. Kevin and Kira were both really happy to see her after of course they got over their shyness :)The kids helped me make and decorate an American flag cake with blueberries, bananas, and strawberries and we made American flag cookies too.
Since fireworks are legal in Arkansas, we went to the store and bought a whole bunch to set off with the kids. Neither of them liked the really loud ones but had a blast throwing the little poppers and lighting the sparklers. Rob got a "worm" which they liked to watch grow too. Kevin really liked the flowers that zip around and change colors. Kira started to cry and went inside.
Later on, after dinner Rob and I sat in the garage and set off the fire crackers. We had so many of them....it made such a mess all over the driveway :) The neighborhood also had a bbq at the park and set off lots of fireworks after it got dark. It was really nice not to have to leave the house and still see a great fireworks show!
