| His birthday crown |
Today is Kevin's 5th birthday! 5 years has officially flown by!
Yesterday he celebrated his birthday with his preschool class. The teacher gets the class Krispy Kreme donuts and they sing Happy Birthday. He got a birthday crown, card, and his five candles. Kevin was so proud of all of these. He wore his crown all day into the next day (which was his real birthday). Every where he went he carried his card and candles and wore his crown. I loved that he was so proud. We counted down to his birthday on the calender. We started the weekend before and crossed off days until the 12th. It was a fun way of teaching him and he had lots of anticipation for his big day. After today we are going to cross off the days until his Little Gym party on January 21st.

We started off the big day by going to the gym. Mommy wanted to get her work out in....but I didnt feel to bad because he got to play with his friend Will in the childcare. After the gym we went with Ms. Becky and Will to McDonalds for lunch. This was Kevin's pick. We were suppose to go to the park but it was FREEZING...we even woke up to a little snow on the ground. Figures because every other day this was was in the 50's!! Despite the weather we had a nice lunch complete with a birthday ice cream! When we got home it was time for a nap because we had to get ready for his big birthday dinner at Steak N Shake....Kevin's pick again. He loves this place....plus they give you a free birthday ice cream sundae....so its pretty awesome! Kevin got his regular....sliders and french fries. We put our cars together and decorated them at the table and then came time for dessert. We sang Happy Birthday quietly to Kevin....because he didnt want us to sing loud. He blew out the candles on his ice cream sundae and him and Kira totally demolished it :) When we got home it was present time. Kevin was so happy with all his gifts. I could really see it on his face. Mommy, Daddy, Kira, Ryan and Drew got him the Leap Pad, Angry Bird stuffed animals, a bean bag chair, an Angry Birds pad to write his words, and some Discovery Kids books. Grammy got him a racing car night light and rain boots, and Grandma and Pop Pop got him some games for his Leap Pad.
Kevin is the most caring, loving, sweetest little boy in the world. He has brought so much joy to our lives. Im so happy to call him mine :) There are definetly great things to come for him in the future!! We love you Kevin!! Happy 5th Birthday!

Duck Duck Goose was pretty funny. It was very unorganized no thanks to the kids.....and half of them had no idea what they were doing :) A child would be picked run around the circle 3-4 times instead of one, knock each other over, etc etc. It cracked me up. Kira picked Kevin to chase her and he knocked her over. She fell hard, started screaming, and didnt want to play anymore. That is pretty much when the girls wrapped it up. Next, they played Smack the Birthday Cake. This is when the kids would run and knock over two big mats. This seemed to be all of the kids favorite. They all sat against the wall pretty patiently for their turn....while cheering each other on. Everyone got to go twice. The parachute was fun too. They played all types of games with it. Kevin and Kira got to sit in the middle while all the kids spun them around and sang Happy Birthday. Then they all went underneath the parachute and sang Happy Birthday again.
